Wordie is our Wordle-style daily: guess the five-letter word in six tries, with color feedback after each guess. Everyone gets the same word, and a new one arrives at midnight Pacific Time. No NYT account, no account of any kind required. Every past puzzle is free to replay from the in-game archive (the calendar icon), and an optional free account adds streaks, daily and all-time leaderboards, and friend groups. Ponder Club is made by two indie developers — there are ads until you choose a one-time purchase that removes them forever, and there's no subscription of any kind.

These aren't ours, and they're all worth your time. Each one keeps the daily-puzzle rhythm and changes one variable:

• Quordle — four Wordle boards at once, with nine guesses shared across all of them. Now hosted by Merriam-Webster.
• Octordle — eight boards at once — the deep end of the multi-board format, hosted by Britannica.
• Waffle — six words woven into a waffle-shaped grid; swap letters into place in as few moves as you can.
• Semantle — guess by meaning, not spelling — each guess gets a score for how semantically close it is. Famously difficult.
• Nerdle — Wordle with arithmetic: guess the hidden equation in six tries, digits and operators included.
• Worldle — guess the country from its silhouette, with distance and direction hints after each try.
• Phrazle — Wordle-style color feedback applied to a whole phrase instead of a single word.
• Squaredle — less guessing, more finding: trace words through a daily letter grid. A different verb, the same ritual.

A fair note: most of these live on ad-supported or subscription-backed sites, which is normal for free games — we run ads too, until you turn them off with a one-time purchase.
